OMANYE Music and Dance Ensemble – a premier Ghanaian performing arts group dedicated to preserving and promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through music and dance. The name “Omanye” originates from the Ga language, conveying powerful values of peace, happiness, and well-being. The ensemble embodies these principles, sharing Ghana’s vibrant cultural traditions with the world through captivating music and dance performances.
During their visit to Norman, they gave several performances including the Masala World Music Series at OU, classroom workshops for OU and USAO, performance at USAO, OKC Folklife Festival, and Norman Cultural Crossroads International Festival and Adams Elementary School.
The group was presented The State of Oklahoma Citation of Gratitude from Representative Jared Deck, Representative Annie Menz, and Representative Jacob Rosecrants.
